The bar in Luckenbach, Texas - population 3.

The bar in Luckenbach, Texas - population 3.  There's more geocaches here than people. Never mind the Post Office sign. That went away in 1970.  They just haven't gotten around to taking the sign down yet. Yes, you can get a little something to eat here when the dance hall isn't hopping. You might even see Waylon, Willie and the boys.  They've been know to just show up and do their thing.  Be warned - on weekends, it's jam packed. A definite neat eat.

After geocaching, Alpha6 and I like to turn off the GPS and find little out of the way places to eat that have good food and only the locals seem to know about it. Chain restaurants, which offer familiar menus and prices, can be found almost anywhere. However, it is the home town diners and family owned one-of-a-kind places that really give you the  flavor and insight into the town or area you are visiting.  Frequently they turn out to be a gateway to the people and history of an area while giving you a darn good meal at a darn good price. So take a look at the restaurants highlighted here.  If you are ever in the neck of the woods stop in and enjoy.

Yeah, I know. We didn't believe it either.  The food is pretty good once you get past the name. They should franchise this.
