Nevada has great geocaching in just about every kind of terrain you can imagine.  In some areas, there are more geocaches than people.  Clark County is home to Las Vegas, so there's probably a few more people. This is Clark County's Centennial Year.  That year long observance is yet another example of integrating geocaching to increase participation and interest.

CAN YOU FIND IT?

The Clark County Parks and Recreation Department has hidden 10 county centennial-themed caches around the valley. Participants who find all 10 and sign the logbooks in each are eligible to win a copy of the county's centennial publication, "Asphalt Memories: A Dictionary of Clark County Street Names." The program runs through Nov. 1.

Access to a GPS device is necessary. You need to log onto the Web site geocaching.com and search keywords "Clark County Centennial" for a description of the sites and their coordinates. They are in the general areas of: the Clark County Museum in Henderson; Sandy Valley; the Old Crescent Townsite; on Mount Potosi; at the Techatticup Mine in Eldorado Canyon; at Railroad Pass; near the St. Thomas Cemetery; in Sunset Park; at the Arden Bomb Shelter; and near Overton at the Double Negative Earthworks site.

Clark County will be 100 years old July 1.
